MS Dhoni likes to focus on his personal development and the team’s betterment, he doesn’t like to listen to gossips and get tangled in the controversial talk, says Ashish Nehra. The former Indian skipper’s name has been dragged into many controversies over the years, but he has managed to stay out.

Freshly retired MS Dhoni has always been praised for his calmness and tunnel vision, whenever playing on the cricket field. His unequalled calm earned him the name of ‘Captain Cool’ in the cricketing world.

Dhoni retired as the only captain to win all major ICC trophies (ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy). He has also won the IPL thrice with CSK.

But yes, no outside gossip, no backbiting. He never let discussions drift that side: Ashish Nehra on MS Dhoni

Ashish Nehra stated how MS Dhoni was an introvert guy when he had just entered the Indian camp in 2004. He also talks about MS Dhoni always letting people in his inner space but never letting the conversations drift to any backstabbing or controversies.

“You could enter Mahi’s room, pick up the phone, order room service, play video games, talk cricket, and if you had an issue with regards cricket, you could tell him. But yes, no outside gossip, no backbiting. He never let discussions drift that side. “That’s why he always wanted issues in the dressing room sorted there only. Nothing was meant for consumption of outside world.” Ashish Nehra told Cricket Next

Rishabh Pant At 22 Is More Talented Than MS Dhoni At 23 On His India Debut

The former Indian speedster talked about MS Dhoni’s astoundingly strong mindset which helped him in his illustrious growth. He also compared Rishabh Pant with MS Dhoni and told the former is more skilful at a younger age than the veteran.

“His biggest skill was his incredibly strong mind that made him what he is today. If you ask me, I have seen Rishabh Pant at Sonnet since he was 14-year-old chubby kid, trust me Pant at 22 has more natural talent than what Dhoni had as a 23-year-old in 2004, when he first played for India. But whether can Pant can be as strong-willed as Dhoni will tell you if he can replicate that success,” said Ashish Nehra
