India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin last played an ODI match in the Indian colors back in 2017 in the series against West Indies. His last T20I for India also came on the same tour of the West Indies in 2017. Ashwin was dropped from the limited-overs squad and it was said that he and Ravindra Jadeja are been rested. However, it wasn’t to be the case as both of them were dropped.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal who were given chances in place of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were able to grab their opportunities with both hands. Hence, they got a longer rope in the side. However, Ravichandran Ashwin has been a consistent player for India in the Test side. But Ashwin had not got a place in the Test side on the tour of the West Indies after the World Cup.

Ashwin has done a great job in Test matches.
The talisman off-spinner ended the decade with most International wickets as he scalped 564 wickets. Ashwin is also the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the red ball version of this decade with 362 scalps to his name in 70 Test matches.
Ravichandran Ashwin held a Question-Answer session on Twitter and asked his followers to throw some interesting questions at him. When one of the users asked him whether he has any regrets over his omission from the ODI and T20I side, Ashwin said that there should be no regrets in life and all is well.

“any regrets for not being part of current ODI and twenty side of India ? Can we expect ur comeback to the team ??,” asked the fan.
