It feels really overwhelming – Jofra Archer

Archer quoted that he never expected to reach this point in his career since his childhood. However, after going good in the T20 tournaments for the past two years, Archer felt that he does have the goods to deliver in the International Cricket.

“It feels really overwhelming,” said Archer on his call-up. “I didn’t expect to ever be good enough to play for England until the last couple of years after I started doing well in T20 tournaments and it’s been a whirlwind period for me. It’s really good to be acknowledged for what I’m doing, but it’s hard to put the feeling into words.”

It’s not about ICC World Cup 2019:

Archer quoted that his focus will be the series against Pakistan. He does want to play the showpiece event but Archer quoted that he is fine with the call-up, which he believes is a big highlight of his career.

It will still be the highlight of my career to play for England in the series against Pakistan. Of course, I want to play in the World Cup, but if it doesn’t happen for me I’m not going to get upset. I’m just so excited to play against Pakistan and this is a position I didn’t imagine I would be in at this stage,” he added as per Cricbuzz.

Currently, the right-handed fast bowler, who is decent with his willow is busy in handing his services to Rajasthan Royals’ franchise for the ongoing Indian Premier League 2019. All in all, it would be a happy moment for Archer. He is in the standby list alongside Chris Jordon to get the ticket for ICC World Cup 2019.
