Parthiv Patel Gets A New Role For Mumbai Indians

Former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel, who just announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, has got a new role in the five-time IPL winning side Mumbai Indians (MI).
On last Wednesday (9th December), the 35-year-old Parthiv Patel announced retirement from all forms of professional cricket, which he served for around two decades. He played last professional cricket match in last February, where he led the Gujarat team in the Ranji Trophy. Though he was a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2020, he was never selected in the playing XI during the entire IPL 13.
Now, just after his retirement from the game, Parthiv Patel has been appointed for the Talent Scout role of the record five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians, who won last two IPL trophies.
Parthiv, who served for six different teams in his 13 years of IPL career, played for Mumbai Indians between 2015 and 2017. He was also a member of IPL winning side Mumbai Indians in 2015 and 2017 seasons. The former wicket-keeper batsman is very excited to join his old team and thankful to the management for this new opportunity.
Parthiv said, “I had enjoyed my cricket playing for Mumbai Indians, those momentous three years with the champion sides remain etched in my memory. It’s time now to turn a new chapter in my life. I am excited, confident, and thankful to the Mumbai Indians management for the opportunity presented to me.”
Parthiv Patel was the leading run-scorer for MI during their IPL 2017 winning campaign
In his IPL career, the left-handed batsman Parthiv Patel scored 2848 runs in 139 matches with an average of 22.60 and strike-rate of 120.78, including 13 half-centuries. Serving for Mumbai Indians between 2015 and 2017, Parthiv scored 911 runs in 40 matches (average 23.35 and strike-rate 131.83), including 5 half-centuries.
Though the Mumbai Indians released him ahead of the IPL 2018 mega auction, Parthiv was their leading run-scorer (395 runs in 16 matches with an average of 24.68 and strike-rate of 134.81, including two half-centuries) during their IPL 2017 title-winning campaign.

Parthiv Patel played for the Indian national cricket team between 2002 and 2018. For the national team, he played 25 Tests, 38 ODIs and 2 T20Is.
