Rahul Dravid Maintains He’s Not ‘Worried’ About KL Rahul’s Form
The struggle started from the England tour and subsequently continued till the date. Recently, Lokesh Rahul featured for India A in the last three One-dayers of the unofficial five-match series against Sam Billings-led England Lions.
The opening batsman Rahul managed to score a total of 55 runs with an unhealthy average of just 18.33. Rahul’s numbers read as 13, 42 and nought respectively.
However, his India A coach Dravid has backed him to come good in the foreseeable future.
Dravid recently said, “I have no doubt he has quality and ability. He is one player who has got hundreds in T20, 50 overs and Test match cricket. Not many people have it. He has proven himself. I am not too worried about his form.”
Rahul Dravid impressed with India A’s performances against England Lions:
India A mostly dominated Lions in the series as they won first four games in Trivandrum.
On January 31 (Thursday), in the fifth and final match, Lions’ bowlers strangulated India A at the paltry total of 121 runs in 35 overs.
However, the hosts led by Ankit Bawne in last two fixtures, fought till the end as Lions won the cliff handed by a solitary wicket. The visitors overhauled the target in 30.3 overs
Moreover, veteran Dravid is happy with the clinical show. Besides, he also spoke about their experiments in the recently held One-dayers.
The Indian A coach Dravid said, “Contrary to the scoreline, there were situations where we were pushed to the wall and challenged. But we never gave up and showed some good fighting spirit. We played really well to win. From our perspective the positives were that we were able to experiment with a lot of young players and bring them into our India A set up. We experimented with at least 20 players in the series to see how good they are.”
In conclusion, Rahul has returned to the cricketing activity earlier this week. On January 24, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) has lifted an interim ban on him alongside Hardik Pandya.
Also, both faced the wrath over social media for their inappropriate comments on Koffee with Karan TV Show.
