Rassie Van Der Dussen Earns CSA Central Contract
The 30-year-old South African cricketer Rassie van der Dussen performed consistently in the recently concluded ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019. Now, he has earned the Cricket South Africa (CSA) central contract for the 2019/20 season.
Rassie van der Dussen made his international cricket debut in last October during the home T20I series against Zimbabwe. Later, in this January, during the home ODI series against Pakistan, Rassie made his ODI debut.
The right-handed batsman played impressive cricket in the recently concluded CWC 2019. In that tournament, he finished as the second most run-scorer for his team. He scored 311 runs in six innings with an average of 62.20. Rassie hit three half-centuries in that tournament, including the best knock of 95 runs against Australia.
Rassie van der Dussen has played 18 ODIs where he has scored 664 runs with an incredible average of 73.77. He has scored seven half-centuries in ODI career. Also, he has scored 253 runs in seven T20I matches with an average of 36.14, including two half-centuries.
Rassie van der Dussen’s promotion is thoroughly justified on the back of a brilliant debut season
The CSA has impressed with Rassie’s consistent batting performances and added him in the central contract list. Thabang Moroe, the CSA chief, has claimed that Rassie deserves this promotion.
Moroe claimed, “Rassie’s promotion is thoroughly justified on the back of a brilliant debut season at international level and has also served as an inspiration to all aspiring cricketers at domestic level of what can be achieved by showing top-class form on a consistent basis.”
