India’s next coach

Indian cricket team director Ravi Shastri said that India is not taking any team lightly including the hosts Bangladesh in the upcoming Asia Cup tournament. India will begin their 2016 Asia Cup T20 journey on 24th February against the home team, which is also the opening game of the tournament.

During a press conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday, Ravi Shastri said, “I have seen cricket in Bangladesh grow. I am happy to see Bangladesh evolved as a team. No team can take them lightly as they have showed their talent in the ODI cricket last year. They have the respect of every opposition and India will be no different. We will play them in that fashion.”

The recent form of Bangladesh at home has been quite superb, especially in ODI format. Yet their T20I performance is not the same kind. Since 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, Bangladesh has won only four T20Is out of nine. Inconsistency in performance from the players is the biggest problem for the Bangladesh in T20 cricket.

On the other hand, the T20I no.1 ranked India is currently in very good form as they won two back-to-back T20I series against Australia in Australia and against Sri Lanka at home.

But it looks like that Indian team is still not going to be overconfident before first game against the home team.
