Rishabh Pant, the young player, has been under pressure because of his degrading performance in matches. His low performance is leading to fewer chances in the senior team. Head coach Ravi Shastri commented that team management will help him to improvise his performance.
Rishabh Pant has played 18 T20Is in the team since last year. He has been given more and more chances to improvise and prove himself but gradually his performances are going down. In the last two T20I matches against South Africa, his scores were 4 and 19. He was out on both the matches because of the wrong selection of shots. Many former players are criticising the player’s ability to judge the shots and recommending other players in place of Rishabh.

Ravi Shastri remarked Rishabh as a world-class player and said that the player had the ability. Shastri has claimed that it doesn’t matter what others say because the team management is ready to give full support to the young player. He also mentioned him as a destructive player.

“Rishabh is different, he is world-class and is a brutal match-winner. Very few around in the world game; I can’t pick five on my hands when it comes to white-ball cricket, T20 cricket. So the patience we will have with him is a lot. All your media reports and all the experts writing (but) Pant is in great space with this Indian team. Experts, they have a job, they can speak. Pant is a special kid and he has already done enough. And he is only going to learn. This team management will back him to the hilt,” said the former Indian all-rounder, who is presently serving his second stint as India’s head coach.

Earlier in an interview, Ravi Shastri himself said that if Rishabh makes the same mistakes as he repeated in West Indies Tour then his chances of selection will be less. But now, the head coach talked in a different tone and supported him.
“Don’t say team management, I spoke about ‘the rap on the knuckles’. If someone goofs up, I have to pull them up. Am I there only to play the tabla? But this guy is world-class, this guy can be destructive, can be a destroyer. And we will give him all the support that he needs to prosper in international cricket,” he added.
The 21-Year-old was consistent and powerful in domestic cricket. The team will wait for the player to show the same glamour in international cricket.
