India and Windies are set to begin their journey in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (2019-21). While there is a tough fight in the Indian squad, the former no.1-ranked Test bowler Ravichandran Ashwin can miss out the playing XI for the first Test of this series.
From Thursday (22nd August), the host side Windies and the visitors India will begin the two-match Test series. They will play the first Test of this series at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (Antigua). With this Test series, both these teams will begin their journey in the 2019-21 ICC World Test Championship.
According to the Mid-Day report, India are likely to begin the first Test with two pacers and two spinners. India have four pacers in the Test squad – Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav. Bumrah and Ishant are likely to play the first Test.

Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja can beat Ravichandran Ashwin in the playing XI fight
The Indian team management is now serious about guiding the youngsters. While the youngster Kuldeep Yadav is likely to feature in the Antigua Test, the team management is expected to put more faith in the in-form Jadeja than Ashwin. Though Kuldeep and Jadeja both are the left-arm spinners, they are very different in bowling skills. Kuldeep is a chinaman bowler while Jadeja is an orthodox bowler.
Wriddhiman Saha may have to wait longer for his Test return
According to the report, the Indian team is likely to come on the field with six batsmen + one wicketkeeper. Despite the struggling form in the limited-overs cricket, Rishabh Pant is likely to retain his Test spot.
If it happens, than Wriddhiman Saha will have to wait more time to make his Test comeback. The 34-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman played his last Test in January 2018. Since then, he has battled with the injuries for a long time.
