Ravindra Jadeja Becomes Fastest Left-Arm Bowler To Complete 200 Test Wickets
On Friday (4th October), the Indian left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja became the fastest left-arm bowler to claim 200 Test wickets.
Ravindra Jadeja is currently busy in the Visakhapatnam Test where India and South Africa are playing the first Test of three-match Test series. Before this Test match, Jadeja managed to pick up 198 wickets in 43 Tests. He was two wickets away to complete his 200 Test wickets.
On Thursday (3rd October), in the evening session, Ravindra Jadeja took his 199th Test wicket after dismissing Dane Piedt (0). Finally, he reached the 200 wickets milestone on Friday evening session after dismissing the Proteas opener Dean Elgar, who scored 160 runs off 287 balls with 18 fours and 4 sixes.
Ravindra Jadeja took 44 Tests to complete his 200 Test wickets. After reaching this magical figure, Jadeja put his name in many record books, including one world record in Test cricket. Here are some of these stats:

ii) Second-fastest Indian bowler to claim 200 Test wickets. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is the record holder who achieved this feat in 37 Tests.
iii) Joint 13th fastest bowler to claim 200 Test wickets.
i) Second Indian left-arm spinner to take at least 200 Test wickets. Bishan Singh Bedi was the first Indian to achieve this feat as he took 266 Test wickets.
ii) Third Indian bowler to claim at least 200 Test wickets. Apart from Bishan Singh Bedi and Ravindra Jadeja, former left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan also achieved this feat as he took 311 Test wickets.
iii) Sixth Indian spinner to take 200 Test wickets.
iv) Sixth left-arm spinner in international cricket history to take 200 Test wickets.
v) Tenth Indian bowler to pick up at least 200 Test wickets.
vi) 13th left-arm bowler in international cricket to claim 200 Test wickets.
vii) Ravindra Jadeja is also the 22nd spinner to take 200 Test wickets.
