The Indian team has made a great comeback on the day two of the Christchurch Test against the hosts New Zealand. Apart from taking wickets, Ravindra Jadeja also took two good catches during New Zealand’s first innings. One of those catches was really incredible which broke a crucial late partnership.
The visiting side Indian team, who are trailing the two-match Test series by 1-0 ahead of the last Test, were under pressure at the stumps of day one of the Christchurch Test. While the hosts bowled out the visitors for 242 runs in the first innings of this match, New Zealand scored 63/0 at the end of the first day.
In the early morning session of day two, New Zealand lost their opener Tom Blundell (30) and skipper Kane Williamson (3). After the 40 runs partnership for the third wicket between another opener Tom Latham and Ross Taylor, Taylor (15) lost his wicket cheaply against the left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja. Latham was later bowled by the Indian pacer Mohammed Shami on 52 runs.
Since then, the hosts were losing their wickets at the regular intervals. Once they were in deep trouble as they were battling on 177/8. From that situation, Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner tried to rescue the team and provided the crucial partnership of 51 runs for the ninth wicket. That partnership was becoming a real threat for the visitors who were desperately trying to break that partnership.
Incredible Ravindra Jadeja sent Neil Wagner to the dressing room
On the final ball of the 72nd over of that innings, Neil Wagner (21) pulled Mohammed Shami‘s short delivery in search of a boundary. While Ravindra Jadeja was standing far ahead of the boundary line, the ball was seemingly travelling over his head. However, super Jadeja made an incredible jump and stunned everyone by grabbing that catch after using only his left hand. Most importantly, Jadeja was in full control during that stunning catch.

New Zealand were bowled out for 235 runs as India managed to take the seven runs lead. Kyle Jamieson lost his wicket at the end of that innings after scoring 49 runs.
Among the Indian bowlers, Mohammed Shami (4/81) took four wickets while Jasprit Bumrah (3/62) picked up three wickets and Umesh Yadav (1/46) got one wicket. Apart from dismissing Ross Taylor, Ravindra Jadeja (2/22) took another wicket in that innings as he bowled Colin de Grandhomme (26).
