Sanjay Bangar Can Face Trouble For Involving In Heated Talk With Devang Gandhi

Sanjay Bangar, who is set to lose the batting coach post of the Indian national cricket team, has been reportedly involved in a heated talk with the national selector Devang Gandhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can take the action against him if the administrative manager or head coach files an official report along with Devang Gandhi.

Among the coaching staffs of the national team, only Sanjay Bangar is likely to face the exclusion. The head coach Ravi Shastri has already earned the contract extension for the next two years. Bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar are also ready to retain their post.

But Vikram Rathour is likely to replace Sanjay Bangar for the batting coach role of the national team. If Rathour misses this opportunity for any reason, Sanjay Bangar can be the next choice for the batting coach post.

During the recent Caribbean tour, Bangar met Devang Gandhi in his hotel room and warned him that their decision to replace him will not work as the team is with him.

The BCCI is not happy with Bangar’s that kind of reaction. However, they have to follow the process to take any action against Bangar.

Devang Gandhi, Sunil Subramaniam and Ravi Shastri’s reports are crucial on Sanjay Bangar

At first, Devang Gandhi needs to report the BCCI officially about this matter.

A senior BCCI official recently told PTI, “In such a scenario, one needs to go strictly by the rule book. First and foremost, the man who Bangar is alleged to have insulted, the national selector Gandhi, he needs to officially report the matter.”

Then, the outgoing administrative manager Sunil Subramaniam needs to report it. Girish Dongre is likely to replace him soon for this post. However, Subramaniam was on duty during the Caribbean tour.

Also, the Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has to report Bangar’s incident. After these procedures, the BCCI can question Bangar.

The BCCI official added, “Outgoing administrative manager Subramanian, in his mandatory report, needs to mention the matter clearly. Last but not the least, head coach Shastri, Bangar’s reporting head, also needs to file it in writing that such an incident happened.

“If all these boxes are not ticked, then there is no question of placing it before the CoA (Committee of Administrators).”

During the Caribbean tour, the BCCI retained Ravi Shastri as the head coach. This retention happened after the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) conducted the interview process.
