Kerela captain Robin Uthappa won the toss and chose to bat first on 12th October against Goa. Skipper lost its wicket after scoring 10 runs and another opener Vishnu Vinod also lost the wicket early. But Sanju Samson was there to stand for the team and he batted very well for the team.

Politics on Sanju Samson’s performance
Samson belongs to the same state of Shashi Tharoor as the politician was in full praise of the player. Congress leader shares the tweet and praises Samson’s performance. He wrote-
“In transit in Frankfurt on the way to the @IPUparliament meeting in Belgrade when I get the news that Thiruvananthapuram’s own Sanju Samson has hit 200 in a Vijay Hazare 50 over the game! Ten sixes, 20 fours. Don’t know if our white-ball selectors were watching?!”

Indian cricketer S Sreesanth, who is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member, didn’t stop to take a dig at the Congress leader. As Tharoor mentions Samson as Thiruvananthapuram lad, Sreesanth criticised him for mentioning him of a state.
He replied to Tharoor and wrote, “Sir.., Don’t tag him as just a Trivandrum boy..he is Malayalam”s proud son and a great INDIAN. He is gonna make all of us proud very soon by scoring big and better in internationals @where he belongs..let’s hope and give him the best support .. @IamSanjuSamson
