Pakistan Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed Joins MS Dhoni In The Record Of Captaincy
After captaining Pakistan national cricket team on 2nd October, Sarfaraz Ahmed achieved a new feat. He became the second wicket-keeper in history to captain his nation in 50 ODI games, joining former Indian captain MS Dhoni.
Indian wicketkeeper MS Dhoni led the Indian national cricket team in 200 ODIs from 2007 to 2018. Pakistan wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed was leading the national team in 50th ODI on last Wednesday night.

Sarfaraz Ahmed was again handed over the captaincy in the home ground despite the disappointing campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 under his captaincy. The start of the tournament was very bad for Pakistan and that led to the failure in qualifying the semifinal. Mickey Arthur was removed after that World Cup.
Misbah-ul-Haq is the newly appointed head coach of the Pakistan team. He supported Sarfaraz which has helped the wicketkeeper to retain his position as the captain. Sarfaraz’s biggest achievement as the captain is defeating India in the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
The three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka is being played at National Stadium in Karachi. Pakistan was in lead with 1-0 margin before the final ODI of this series. The first match was washed out because of rain. The second ODI played on 30th September, Pakistan registered an easy win of 67 runs. Sarfaraz Ahmed-led team displayed an overall good performance. Babar Azam struck the 11th ODI century and contributed a big share in the first innings total. Pakistan bowler Usman Shinwari was also outstanding as he picked five wickets of the Islander.
Sri Lanka is playing its first ODI series in Pakistan soil after the 2009 terrorist attack incident. In 2009 Sri Lanka team’s bus was attacked by terrorist which injured 6 players. Because of the security issue, 10 Sri Lankan players backed from this tour. The team which is touring Pakistan is inexperienced and has many new faces. They were badly defeated in the 2nd ODI as they lost early wickets of the top-order batting.
After finishing the ODI matches, the team is lined up with three-match T20I series which will be played in Lahore. Sarfaraz Ahmed will try to give his best in the series to maintain his position as captain.
