Saurashtra player Sheldon Jackson, the wicket-keeper batsman, has called for transparency from the national selection committee. He claimed that the selectors are not giving attention to small states even though they are performing well.

Saurashtra reached the finals of the Ranji Trophy three times in the last decade. The players have performed consistently in the domestic circuit, which has not grabbed the selector’s eyeball. Sheldon Jackson showed discontent for not selecting the player who deserves to be in India A.

Earlier Manoj Tiwary had also questioned the BCCI. Tiwary who plays for Bengal consoled Sheldon and commented on the post saying “can feel your pain and your frustration is justified”.

Sheldon Jackson also questioned the importance of Ranji trophy if the players are not selected based on performance. He is of the viewpoint that selectors should be transparent as players need to know their mistakes and where they lack.

Because of his talent, he was selected in Kolkata Knight Riders and also played for India A in 2013. Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Jaydev Unadkat are the cricketers to play international cricket from Saurashtra.
