Riding on her superlative performance against England, India opener Smriti Mandhana broke into the top five and climbed to the fourth spot in the latest ICC Women’s One-day International Rankings for batswomen. Mandhana also achieved a career-high 678 ranking points.

The left-handed batter Smriti rose 10 places in the rankings. She recently bagged the Player of the Series award as India sealed the series 2-1 against the reigning world champions England.

The aggressive opener finished the series as the top-scorer, scoring 181 runs at an average of 90.5. She scored her runs at a strike rate of 77.68. Mandhana hit 14 fours and five sixes in the three games – more than any other player in the series.

The latest performance only extended Mandhana’s brilliant last one year with the bat. She has been in stellar form since India began their ICC Women’s Championship campaign in February.

Another player to move up in the rankings is Deepti Sharma. The batswoman jumped eight spots to 16th with a career-best of 560 ranking points after finishing as the second highest run-scorer.

Deepti scored 104 runs in three games. She also gained 10 spots in bowling rankings after impressing with her off-spin.

The all-round performance helped Deepti claim the third place owing to the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings for all-rounders behind Australia’s Ellyse Perry and Windies Stafanie Taylor.

For the visitors, Danielle Hazell, who picked up six wickets, gained big. She rose six places to 12th on the bowling charts, with a career-best of 553 ranking points.
