Board of Control for India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has opined that having a quality pace attack, Team India skipper Virat Kohli just needs to execute his plans perfectly to win the much-anticipated four-match Test series against Australia in December.
Last year, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, Team India created history by registering maiden Test series win over Australia at their home. This year, they have new challenges as a day and night match has been added to the Test series. But Sourav Ganguly is confident that India can bring back the trophy home because they have a good combination of players.
Virat Kohli should get better of bowlers: Sourav Ganguly

Talking about India’s pace battery, the former Indian captain heaped praise on the young player Navdeep Saini, stating that he has evolved enormously and is now a good option for Virat. He added that the Team India captain was going to a pivotal role in leading the bowling unit, consisting of Ashwin, Bumrah and Jadeja, effectively to be the winners.
“Yes, it’s quality [Indian pace attack], there’s Navdeep Saini also who has improved enormously, enormously, than what we saw last year. Bowls at a good pace, good length, so India has the attack. It’s about Virat, and I’m saying this as a player, not as a BCCI President, it’s about Virat just working with them and getting them to be at their best,” he said.
“He has to decide as a captain, who he wants to attack with, who he wants to defend with. At which stage of the game he wants to attack with an Ashwin or a Bumrah or a Saini or a Sharma or a Jadeja. It’s his captaincy skill,” Sourav Ganguly told to India Today.

The Test series will begin with the pink ball Test on December 17 at the Adelaide Oval. Sourav Ganguly believes that India will inaugurate the series on a positive note because they have a history of winning at this venue.
“India has won in Adelaide in 2003, in 2018 when they visited; so, India has a history of winning in Adelaide. The first Test match starts in Adelaide. So, play well and we’ll get on the right side of the series,” he added.
The second Test match will be played in Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from Dec 26 while the third and fourth Test matches will be held in Sydney Cricket Ground (January 7) and Gabba (January 15).
