Former India pacer Sreesanth has named his India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 and has picked pacer Mayank Yadav as a surprise selection. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in June in the West Indies and the USA.
The Indian selectors will meet with Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid this week to decide the selection for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the USA and the West Indies in June. There is a lot of talk over the open spots even if a few people have already taken them.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are Sreesanth’s choices for openers. Aside from this, youthful Yashasvi Jaiswal has replaced Sreesanth at position three. At position four, Sreesanth has selected Suryakumar Yadav.
Rishabh Pant is ranked number five by Sreesanth, who has also appointed the wicketkeeper-batter as vice-captain. Hardik Pandya has also been handed a spot in Sreesanth’s squad. In addition to Hardik Pandya, Sreesanth’s favorite now is Shivam Dube.

Sreesanth has also retained Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson on the squad at the same time. Sreesanth has stated that he is confident in Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal as the spinners, aside from this.
Sreesanth has named Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Mayank Yadav as fast bowlers in the Indian squad.
Interestingly, Sreesanth has not picked Shubman Gill in his Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. His squad looks extremely well-balanced, but picking Mayank Yadav has become a topic of conversation amongst the fans.
With a current record of 156.7 kph, Mayank is the quickest delivery in the 2024 Indian Premier League. He had also clocked 155.8 kph against Punjab Kings as well. He had picked three wickets each in his first two matches and won the Player of the Month in both encounters.
