Sri Lanka managed to secure a draw after showcasing good batting performances on the day 5 of the third and final Test against India at Delhi.

Chasing down the mammoth 410 runs to secure the victory, Sri Lanka began the day on their overnight score 31/3 and managed to bat at the end of the day where their final score was 299/5. At the stumps of the final day, Sri Lanka was 111 runs behind from their victory while India was 5t wickets behind from their victory.

However, India clinched the 3-match Test series with the 1-0 margin.

It is the most runs scored by any visiting batsman in the fourth innings of a Test match on the Indian soil. The previous record holder was West Indian legend Sir Viv Richards with 109* runs knock at Delhi in 1987.

Also, it is the second best individual knock by any Sri Lankan batsman in the 4th innings of a Test match against India. The best is 124 runs by Duleep Mendis at Kandy in 1985.
