Steve Waugh Predicts India-Australia Test Series Winner

Last month, Australia toured India played the ODI series where the Men in Blue registered the victory. Well, the much-awaited competition between the two sides is in the longest format of cricket. Former Australian cricketer Steve Waugh has predicted the winner of the four-match Test series which will be played by the end of this year.

Last time, Virat Kohli and Co. registered a historic win over Australia in the Test series 2018-2019. However, the two major players David Warner and Steven Smith were missing from the Test squad for Australia.

Now, they have returned to the team and will surely be the part for Test series between India and Australia.

Steve Waugh tags his country as the winner:

As the cricket world eagerly awaits for the four-match series, Waugh has said that his country is favourite to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. He also added that the day-night Test match will bring more competition in the game.

“Australia will be favourites because we are playing in Australia and we know the pitch as well. Day-night Test is gonna be something that India will play. I think they have agreed to play that. There are of fact that Virat Kohli taking on that challenge. If you want to be the best side in the World you gonna win away from home as much as you can,” Steve Waugh told ANI.

The Test series between India and Australia will be the part of the ICC World Test Championship.

Thus, when asked about who do you think will play the final of the Test Championship in 2021, Waugh said:

“I will know a bit more next year when India comes down to Australia. That will be the play between the best Test sides in the World. Australia will be peaking by the time, India has been peaking for the last 12 months. So, it is going to be an amazing series.”

Meanwhile, India will head to the upcoming Test series against New Zealand from 21st February.
