Want to be a professional cricketer?
England’s experienced campaigner Stuart Broad has been one of the greatest bowlers in contemporary cricket. He has been one of the integral parts of England cricket history. In the initial phase of his career, he made a lot of mistakes in his bowling. The best example is when he was hit for 6 sixes in an over by Yuvraj Singh.
Soon after his worst nightmare, he didn’t make lame excuses for his failure but instead he raised his standards gradually and then he went on to become one of the finest bowlers in modern-day cricket. Stuart Broad became the second-highest wicket-taker for his nation and his journey has been well and truly remarkable.
The Nottingham-born cricketer has by far picked 485 wickets in Test cricket which is seventh-most by any bowler in the history of red-ball international cricket. Among the seamers, Stuart Broad is also the fourth bowler to take that many wickets. He also picked 178 wickets in ODIs and 65 wickets in T20Is.
Stuart Broad reveals the best paceman of his generation
Recently, Stuart Broad participated in a SkySports podcast which was hosted by Rob Key alongside legendary West Indian cricketer Michael Holding and South African cricketer Shaun Pollock, where they discussed greatest-ever fast bowlers.
Stuart Broad picked Dale Steyn, as the best paceman of his generation. Broad had also expressed that Dale Steyn’s bowling action, the swing was perfect in all aspects. He further went on to add saying that if anybody wants to be a bowler of top calibre, then one would want to have the kind of skills Dale Steyn had.
“He (Dale Steyn) is the bowler of my generation. The action, the pace, the way he can swing it, the skill. If you wanted to be a bowler, you’d want that sort of ability,” Stuart Broad told in the podcast.
Dale Steyn picked 439 wickets in Tests registering his best bowling figures of 11/60 with 26 five-wicket hauls and five 10-wicket hauls. He has also claimed 196 wickets in ODIs and his best bowling figures are 6/39 and also bagged three 5 wicket hauls.
