On Sunday (28th April), the pacer Taskin Ahmed and the all-rounder Farhad Reza have been added with the 17-member Bangladesh squad for the upcoming ODI tri-series in Ireland.
Before the upcoming Cricket World Cup, Bangladesh will play an ODI tri-series in Ireland. Apart from Bangladesh and the host side Ireland, Windies will also participate in this ODI tri-series. This ODI tri-series will run from 5th May to 17th May where each team will face all other teams for twice before the final match.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already announced the full squad for the upcoming tri-series as well as for the subsequent Cricket World Cup. While Taskin Ahmed has already missed out the 15-member World Cup squad, he was also initially not in the tri-series squad. The right-arm pacer hasn’t played an ODI match since October 2017. The 25-year-old pace bowler has recently recovered from an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, the pace-bowling all-rounder Farhad Reza played his last ODI and last international match (T20I) in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Since his international debut in July 2006, Reza has played 34 ODIs and 13 T20Is till the date.

Recently, in the Dhaka Cricket League (domestic List A tournament), Reza finished as the leading wicket-taker. Playing for Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, the right-arm pacer bagged 38 wickets in 16 matches with an average of 16.39. Moreover, the 32-year-old also scored 207 runs (11 innings) in that tournament with an average of 25.87.
The upcoming tri-series will be a good World Cup preparation for Bangladesh

After the forthcoming tri-series in Ireland, Bangladesh will play two warm-up matches before starting their new World Cup journey. Bangladesh will face Pakistan (26th May) and India (28th May) in the pre-World Cup warm-up matches.
Then Bangladesh will begin their journey in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales. In their opening match of that tournament, The Tigers will face South Africa on 2nd June at The Oval.
