The IPL Star Chris Morris Signed Up By Sydney Thunder In Big Bash League
Chris Morris, the South African bowling all-rounder, will now be seen playing in Big Bash League (BBL). The most profitable South African player in IPL, Morris, has been signed up by Sydney Thunder for the BBL 2019-20. The league will start from December 17 and the first match is between Brisbane heat and Syndey Thunder.
He has played 4 Test Matches, 42 ODIs and 23 T20Is for South Africa. He is not only fantastic bowler but also a fearless lower-order batsman. Morris has played 61 IPL matches and earlier he played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and now plays for Delhi Capitals (DC).
In ICC World Cup 2019, he picked up 13 Wickets for his team. Now the player is excited to join the league and thinks its a big opportunity for him to join the BBL.
“Obviously, since the tournament started with the Big Bash, it’s one of the tournaments that any cricketer would want to play in,” Morris said.
“For me the way I looked at it was, it was part of my cricketing career bucket list. It was a no brainer when Sydney Thunder came calling.”
Morris can change the game: Shane Bond
Head Coach of Sydney Thunder, Shane Bond is delighted to have him in the team. He feels that Morris’ experience can help the team.
Chris is someone who I had my eye on,” Bond said. “It’s always great to have a player who can change the game with bat and ball. Morris is an experienced, hardened cricketer who bowls 90mph and smacks it with the bat. Those players are very rare, so he brings a unique skill set.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming his personality and competitiveness to the team as well,” added the former New Zealand pacer.
Chris Morris will join Sydney once his contract end with Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in the Mzansi Super League (MSL). The MSL final is set on December 16 and BBL will have the opening match on December 17.
