There were reports of an argument between Sanjay Bangar and national selectors in the West Indies after he was dropped from the position of batting coach. Sanjay Bangar cleared that there was no such exchange of words with selector Devang Gandhi. He said all the claims of getting angry on Gandhi are wrong rather he talked him about the presentation.

“It is fictitious. I had a cordial exchange with him three days after the selection process was over. It was related to my presentation. There was no heated argument,” Bangar told Sportstar.

BCCI might question Bangar if head coach Ravi Shastri or outgoing team manager Sunil Subramaniam complain about it, a report says.

Vikram Rathour was given the first place for the selection of the Batting Coach and second was Bangar. Many were not in favour of Bangar to retain his position and it came to be true after the results.

Bangar, further, said that he was happy to leave the team with a strong middle-order in Test cricket. “I am happy to leave with a team that boasts of a strong middle order in Test matches. There is depth in batting now due to regular contributions from the wicket-keeper and the lower order. We need to strengthen our openers, especially in overseas conditions. There is little to worry on the bowling front. We have a rich collection there,” he said.

In 2014, Bangar became the part of the team as a batting coach. Under him, the team has seen success but his inability to find the no.4 under his coaching was questioned.

In his final try, he gave the chance to Shreyas Iyer and proved to be beneficial. Iyer might be given further chances in the team.
