The former West Indian pacer Tino Best said that he will definitely use his upcoming chance and follow in the footsteps of former greats Malcolm Marshall and Gordon Greenidge who had played in his current new county team, Hampshire.
Tino Best has recently joined Hampshire for a short-term deal after replacing fellow Barbados and West Indian pacer Fidel Edwards. Edwards is ruled out due to injuries.
On Tuesday, Best told BBC radio about the new journey, “I’m like a kid in a candy store. I’m really blessed to have this opportunity and I’m ready to bowl as hard as I can.”
The former Barbados duos Malcolm Marshall and Gordon Greenidge had played for Hampshire in the past. Best said, “I’m just relishing the opportunity to play for the same county as West Indies greats like Marshall and Greenidge. I’ve always been a student of the game. Cricket’s my first love and it’s what pays the bills.”
Tino featured in the Masters Champions League at UAE in early 2016. When he was asked about his current fitness, Best said, “The key with fast bowling is it’s all about fitness. Ottis Gibson (England bowling coach and former West Indies head coach) says it’s all about desire. It’s all about working hard and that desire will never leave me.”
Before this, Tino had played in the county cricket for Yorkshire in 2010.
Recently, Best was in the news for revealing his personal life where he claimed that he slept with 500-650 women.
