Former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coach Tom Moody is now in a race for the high-profile post in India’s cricket team. Aussie had also applied in 2017 for the head coach of Team India when Ravi Shastri won the battle following the resignation from Anil Kumble as a head coach.

Also, BCCI had recently asked for the new applications for the chief coach and supporting staff. Subsequently, it had attracted some veterans of the game, including Moody.
Earlier, the board had set the deadline for Tuesday (June 30) regarding the applications.
Despite Team India skipper Virat Kohli expressing interest to see Ravi Shastri at the helm, Moody had applied for the lucrative post.

Aussie star is known for his reputation. The 53-year-old had served as a coach for Sri Lanka. He also had his coaching stints with the different franchises of the global T20 leagues.
Meanwhile, former Kiwis coach Mike Hesson, legendary Mahela Jayawardene and former India all-rounder Robin Singh and Lalchand Rajput had already entered the race for the Team India’s coach.

Moody is one of the leading contenders who is set to give Shastri a tough time for the coaching post.
Earlier, BCCI had given an extension of 45 days to Shastri and coaching staff who had already set off for the Windies tour. India will play three T20Is, as many ODIs and two Tests between August 3 September 3 respectively.
Moreover, Jonty Rhodes had applied for the fielding coach with Pravin Amre filing nomination for the batting coach.
