Some cricket fans have so much passion for their country that they are ready to do anything for their players. The passion which is seen in Ashes ground can not be found in any Test Match of other countries. A 12-year-old Australian cricket fan also did something crazy to watch his team playing in Ashes. Max Waight used to collect garbage of his neighbours and gathered money to watch England vs Australia in Ashes 2019.

He saved the money for four years by working hard and bought the tickets from his own money. His dream came true when he meets all the Australian players and spent time with them.

“I sat next to Steve Waugh, Justin Langer, and Nathan Lyon. Justin Langer showed me the plan book which was amazing to see all his notes and talking to Steve Waugh was amazing too,” cricket.com.au quoted Max as saying.

“Steve Smith and Pat Cummins are my favourites. I got to talk to them about how they prepare and play the game. It was very enjoyable,” he added.

Max’s Father kept his promise

The young crazy cricket fan watched the 2015 ICC Cricket World cup in his home ground and his next step was to watch the team in the UK playing against England. His father, Damien, promised that if he collects AUD 1500, then they will go to watch the match.

The boy followed his father words and started collecting money. He with his mother decided to pick up the garbage of neighbours on weekends which in back he was paid AUD 1 per household.

The hard-working lad gathered the money and father has to follow his promise.

“When I said it, I had to follow through. If he saved up the money I was not going to let him down,” cricket.com.au quoted Damien as saying.

“You do not fast forward in your mind at the start and think you are going to do it but it is good that we are here. It is an amazing experience, we have got our whole family and another close family that we are friends with. We are just making memories,” he added.

True cricket fan Max enjoyed his full trip. He and his brother were hanging out in team bus with the Australian coach Justin Langer.
