TogglePakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal stands for his younger brother Umar Akmal, who has faced a three-year ban by Pakistan Cricket Board. He said that his brother should learn from his mistakes like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni did in their career.
Umar has been banned because he failed to report the approach from bookies ahead of the Pakistan Premier League. After the punishment was given to the right-hand batsman, Kamran opined that it is harsh punishment as to ban three years that can affect his brother’s career.

Although, Kamran acknowledged that Umar should learn from his mistake and improvise his attitude as the Indian captain, who according to Pakistani cricketer has changed his attitude in comparison to early IPL days. Further, he also gave an example of his countrymen Babar Azam whom Umar should follow.
Kamran Akmal’s advise to his younger brother Umar Akmal:
“My advice for Umar is that he has to learn. If he has made a mistake, he must learn from others. He is still young. There are many distractions in life,” Kamran said on a chat show ‘Cow Corner Chronicles’.
“But he must learn from say, Virat Kohli. In the early days of IPL, Virat was different and then he changed his attitude and approach. Look how he has turned into the world’s number one batsman,” he added.
Umar Akmal banned for three years from all forms of cricket:
“There is our own Babar Azam who is now in the top three in the world. Then there are other examples like Dhoni. Look at the way he led his team. Then Sachin paaji who was always away from controversies. These are fantastic examples before us.
Kamran, who featured in 53 Tests, 157 ODIs, and 58 T20Is, last played for Pakistan in 2017 in the white-ball formats. On the other hand, Umar has played 16 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 84 T20Is and last played against Sri Lanka in 2019.
