ISH had a successful experience in the inaugural edition in 2017. The second edition of the ISH was scheduled on 16 February 2019 in Mumbai. About the Indian Sports Honours (ISH)
ISH is an initiative to felicitate and honour the Indian sportspersons for their achievements, performance and contribution to the sport. The Indian national cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli and the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group chairman Sanjiv Goenka have taken this initiative. There are a total of 17 different categories in the second edition of ISH.
Around 200 journalists of the Sports Journalists Federation of India have shortlisted 11 out of 17 categories. The ISH jury will decide the winners of these categories. The chairman Sanjiv Goenka, Pullela Gopichand, Abhinav Bindra, Sardar Singh, Mahesh Bhupathi, PT Usha and Anjali Bhagwat are in the ISH jury.
On the other hand, there are six more Popular Choice Honours. While the fans will decide the winners of these categories, they can vote in these categories on Twitter.
