Virat Kohli And Sanjiv Goenka Initiative The Indian Sports Honours Has Been Postponed

The whole country is under deep sadness on the Pulwama terrorist attack incident that happened this Thursday (14 February). Now, the organisers have postponed the second edition of Indian Sports Honours (ISH). Later, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli confirmed the news.

On Thursday, a suicide bomber attacked with an explosive-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district (Jammu and Kashmir). More than 40 soldiers have lost their lives, and many are critically injured. The Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out that attack.

The whole world has condemned on that coward incident. The entire Indian cricket family have also cried out over that incident and came out to support the Indian soldiers.

ISH had a successful experience in the inaugural edition in 2017. The second edition of the ISH was scheduled on 16 February 2019 in Mumbai. But while the Pulwama incident has disheartened the whole country, the organisers have decided to postpone it. They will announce the re-scheduled date later. ISH has announced this news through their Twitter account on Friday (15 February).

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli also confirmed the postpone news through his one personal post on his official Twitter account.

About the Indian Sports Honours (ISH)

ISH is an initiative to felicitate and honour the Indian sportspersons for their achievements, performance and contribution to the sport. The Indian national cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli and the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group chairman Sanjiv Goenka have taken this initiative. There are a total of 17 different categories in the second edition of ISH.

Around 200 journalists of the Sports Journalists Federation of India have shortlisted 11 out of 17 categories. The ISH jury will decide the winners of these categories. The chairman Sanjiv Goenka, Pullela Gopichand, Abhinav Bindra, Sardar Singh, Mahesh Bhupathi, PT Usha and Anjali Bhagwat are in the ISH jury.

On the other hand, there are six more Popular Choice Honours. While the fans will decide the winners of these categories, they can vote in these categories on Twitter.
