The 31-year-old Indian captain Virat Kohli created another history in Indian cricket on Monday (5th October) evening as the right-handed batsman became the first Indian to score 9000 T20 runs.

During the match against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 19th match of the IPL 2020 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli completed his 9000 runs in T20 career. Before this match, Kohli was just 10 runs short from this milestone as he scored 8990 runs in 270 T20 innings (285 T20 matches) with an average of 41.05. He has already hit five centuries and 65 half-centuries in T20 career, including his best T20 knock 113 runs.

Virat Kohli completed his 9000 T20 runs in 271st T20 innings

Playing his 271st T20 innings in his 286th T20 match on this evening, Kohli became the first Indian cricketer to complete 9000 T20 runs after reaching his 10 runs on the day with a four. While RCB lost that game, Kohli scored 43 runs off 39 balls.

Kohli also became the seventh player in T20 cricket history to complete 9000 T20 runs. After Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, Kohli becomes the second Asian batsman to score 9000 T20 runs.
