The 31-year-old Virat Kohli completed his 200 IPL sixes on Sunday (25th October) afternoon, during the 44th match of the IPL 2020 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai).

Before this match, Kohli was only one six away to complete his 200 IPL sixes as the right-handed batsman managed to hit 199 sixes in 179 IPL innings (187 matches). During the 44th match of the IPL 2020, Kohli completed his 200 IPL sixes after hitting his first over-boundary of the match. That happened during the 17th over of the first innings of the match, where Kohli smashed a sixer to CSK left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja.
With that sixer, Kohli became the fifth overall batsman but third Indian batsman to hit 200 IPL sixes. Apart from Caribbean Chris Gayle and South African AB de Villiers, Indian cricketers MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma are also in the list of 200 IPL sixes.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli became the first Indian and third overall batsman to hit 200 IPL sixes for a team. Incidentally, all these three batsmen hit 200 IPL sixes for RCB. Before Kohli, West Indies star Chris Gayle and South African cricketer AB de Villiers hit 200 IPL sixes for a team. While the left-handed batsman Gayle hit 239 IPL sixes for RCB, the right-handed batsman De Villiers has hit 218 IPL sixes for RCB.
