Virat Kohli Was Always A Smart Cricketer, Fitness His Strength – Gautam Gambhir

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir stated that current captain Virat Kohli was always a smart cricketer. Gambhir had observed Kohli from close corners in the Delhi team as a senior player. Kohli is known to give his best and the hard work that he put in the formative years of his career played a huge role in making him the best batsman in the world.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli has paid special attention to his fitness, which has helped him reap rewards at the top level. Kohli has started a new benchmark in the Indian cricket for the fitness and thus he has been able to get the best out of the players. The current Indian team is a fit unit and a lot of credit goes to Virat Kohli for instilling the confidence.

Virat Kohli is the best in the business

In fact, Kohli had changed his training and diet in the early stages of his International career. The results have been positive and Kohli is now the fittest player in the cricket world.

Kohli has not looked back since then and he has worked really hard on his fitness in the gym. The Indian captain has left no stone unturned in his preparation and he has got the results he was looking for.

Gautam Gambhir said while talking to Star Sports Cricket Connected, “He was always a very smart cricketer, but then he turned his entire T20 career into a very successful one, just by being supremely fit. Probably because he does not have the strength of Chris Gayle, he doesn’t have the ability of AB de Villiers, he probably does not have the ability of somebody likes Jacques Kallis or Brian Lara.

“The biggest strength he’s got is now his fitness and he’s turned that into his game as well, that”s why he has become so successful, so you got to give it to the guy. The most important thing is that he runs really well between the wickets, not many people do it.”

Kohli has done a fine job and his work ethics have helped him reach the top echelon of International cricket. Virat Kohli is known to give his 120% on the field and he is one of the most hard working players in the world. The talisman has ticked the right boxes and he would like to continue the good show going.
