After having a roller-coaster ride in the league stage, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli opined that it would be more fun during playoffs while addressing his teammates.
Royal Challengers Bangalore started the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 journey on a winning note, defeating the SunRisers Hyderabad in their first match. Well, SRH and RCB will now play the eliminator match, and the winning team will feature in the second qualifier.
During the league stage, RCB entertained fans with a thrilling encounter against Mumbai Indians. Both the teams put a tough fight as the results of the game were decided in the second super over with RCB clinching the victory. After that match, they gained confidence while ticked all the boxes right to reach the top four.
But in the last four matches, RCB has been on the other side of the result. With Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers losing their wicket early, they have been unable to put up a fighting total – 145 against CSK, 164 against MI, 120 against SRH and 152 against DC. Eventually, losing all these four matches.
However, with their early victories and good run rate, they have survived in the competition.
Playoffs will have more fun than league stage: Virat Kohli
In the video posted by RCB on their official handle, Virat Kohli has urged his teammates to keep a positive mindset and don’t focus on what’s done and move forward in the competition. He also stated that the playoffs will be a more fun experience than the league stage matches.
“I want all of us to be in a positive mindset. I promise you we will have more fun in this next week than we had in two and a half months,” said Kohli.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will have to somehow win the match against SRH to move on to the qualification match and enter the finals. Notably, it is the first time since 2016 that they have entered the playoff race.
