There were questions when Ravindra Jadeja was selected over Ravichandran Ashwin for the Tests against West Indies. Virat Kohli was being questioned about his team selection. Everybody was disappointed as Ashwin is master when it comes to playing in the Caribbean Islands. Finally, the skipper has answered why was Jadeja selected instead of Ashwin.
He said that Jadeja has a unique control in his bowling even if he is not getting assistance from the wicket. According to Kohli, he is a trusted bowler and can pick the wickets. Jadeja has the ability to hit the same line and length on a consistent basis which is a rare quality in modern-day cricket.

“With Jadeja, we can bank on control. He is the most consistent and accurate bowler in away games. There is a reason why he is constantly playing in the XI. Even if the wicket is not supporting, he gives you control. As a batsman, when the bowler is pitching the ball in areas where you can get out constantly even if it is not turning so much, he is always in the game and that’s his USP,” he told reporters.

The allrounder is in the best of form and has contributed to all the departments, Virat Kohli opined. He also said that the all-rounder is confident and wants to contribute to the team’s success. Jadeja has had a good outing and scored a crucial fifty and claimed a couple of wickets as well.
“With the bat, ball and field – there is nobody better than him in the world. He is in a great zone right now and willing to contribute to the team. And he wants the ball, he wants to do the job,” Kohli reasoned.
