Since the Pulwama terror attack, India was waiting for the statement of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and he finally broke his silence on Tuesday.
On last Thursday (14 February), a suicide bomber attacked with an explosive-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district (Jammu and Kashmir). More than 40 soldiers lost their lives, and many are critically injured. The Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out that attack.
The whole world has condemned the oward incident. Entire Indian cricket family has also cried out over that incident and came out to support the Indian soldiers. Many Indians have come to protest against that incident by urging for Pakistan’s boycott in all sectors.
India has already stopped broadcasting the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2019). Some Indian cricket stadiums have removed or covered the pictures of Pakistan cricketers. The country has also banned all Pakistani artists.
Finally, the former Pakistan World Cup-winning captain and present Pakistan PM Imran Khan has come up with their statement. While India has blamed Pakistan for that incident, the Pakistan PM has denied on the country’s involvement in that incident.
In his statement, Imran Khan said, “I know it’s a poll season in India. If India will attack us we will surely retaliate. It is easy to start a war but difficult to end. The issue should be solved through dialogue.
“India has blamed Pakistan without any proof. Pakistan has nothing to gain from this attack. Pakistan is moving towards peace and stability. This is new Pakistan and new thinking that doesn’t support terrorism.”

India and Pakistan relation in present international cricket
England and Wales will host the upcoming 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup from 30 May to 14 July. Ten teams will participate in the competition, including the previous champions India and Pakistan. As per the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup schedule, India and Pakistan will meet in the tournament on 16 June at Old Trafford (Manchester). However, many Indians believe that India shouldn’t play against Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup.
Due to the political tensions between the two countries, India and Pakistan haven’t played a bilateral series in international cricket, since January 2013. Now, they only meet in the multination international tournaments (ICC or ACC tournaments). Last time they met in international cricket was in the Super Four stage of 2018 Asia Cup.
