Watch – Rohit Sharma Redeem Himself After Dropping Easy Catch
The Indian opener Rohit Sharma was able to redeem himself after dropping an easy catch of Mushfiqur Rahim. Rohit fluffed a simple chance before the lunch break when Rahim got an outside edge against Mohammed Shami while attempting to play a drive.
Subsequently, India’s fielding coach had a small catching practice session with Rohit Sharma during the lunch break. Rohit Sharma was able to get his confidence back after catching a few balls in the break.
Rohit Sharma didn’t make the same mistake twice.
Consequently, when another opportunity came Rohit’s way, he was not going to make the same mistake again. Shami was once again able to produce an outside edge, this time of Mahmudullah’s bat but Rohit Sharma was able to hang on to it this time around.
Subsequently, Rohit Sharma made a gesture towards the fielding coach, R Sridhar after taking the catch and Sridhar also had a laugh about it. Meanwhile, India’s catching was not up to the mark in the first Test. Ajinkya Rahane who is India’s best slip fielder dropped as many as three catches. Indian skipper Virat Kohli also dropped Mushfiqur Rahim’s catch in the first innings when he was only on three runs.
On the other hand, Bangladesh also didn’t have a great Test match with their catching. Imrul Kayes dropped Mayank Agarwal when the Indian opener was only on 32 runs and he then went on to score 243 runs. Thus, it was a costly miss for the visitors.
On the other side, Mohammed Shami was once again the pick of the Indian bowlers as he scalped four wickets to continue his domination in the second innings. Shami was right on the money and picked up seven wickets in the match. Ravichandran Ashwin also supported Shami as he snared three wickets in the second essay.
The second Test match which will be a pink-ball affair will take place at Kolkata from November 22.
