South Africa’s experienced batsman David Miller has cleared the team’s intentions before the T20I series against India. The Proteas batsman stated that the main goal of the tour is to win in India. The tourists’ have an inexperienced T20I squad and they would have their task cut out against potent Indian side.
The main challenge for the Rainbow nation would be to adjust to the spinning tracks. South Africa had clinched the T20I and ODI series back in 2015 when they had toured India but had lost the Test match series 3-0. However, a lot has changed since then and it is a completely different South African side which lacks experience on their side.

“Yeah I feel playing for your country, there is always responsibility on your shoulders regardless of how much experience you have in international cricket. I mean I have been playing for many years and there is a lot of things to look forward to. We have a young squad and they are all looking ahead to the challenge. It is a great stepping stone, we have come here to win and leave a mark,” Miller told reporters on Saturday.
South Africa was knocked out of the World Cup as they were not able to deliver consistent performances. However, the players’ have now moved on and would like to grab their opportunities in the upcoming series.
“We did a few things wrong in the World Cup, but now it is a new phase in South African cricket. We have been training hard for the past ten days. Everyone is eager to get the games going and test themselves. Like I said we have come here to win,” Miller said.
“A lot of guys in our side have played ‘A’ games here. They are experienced enough to play in India. We have had good preparation, we have been here for more than a week. It’s a good wicket here, we are eager to get going tomorrow,” he added.

On the other hand, David Miller heaped praise on new T20I skipper Quinton de Kock. Miller said that de Kock has a great cricketing brain and he would like to lead from the front.
