After the 2016 IPL auction, there is a big question that who is M Ashwin to be bought with 4.50 crores rupees by new IPL team Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) from the base price of 10 lakhs rupees.

M Ashwin’s full name is Murugan Ashwin who played for Tamil Nadu in the domestic cricket. He is a leg-spinner who is a specialist in bowling googly.

The details about him are given in below:

1) M Ashwin was born on 8th September 1990 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is the son of Era Murugan, the famous dialogue writer of super hit Tamil movie Billa 2 where Ajit Kumar plays the lead role. 

2) He studied mechanical engineering at Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar Collage.

3) He started to play cricket from the very early year. He played several cricket matches in the domestic cricket for various Tamil Nadu teams from childhood. Apart from Tamil Nadu, he played for Indian Pistons (2006/7-2014/15), Chennai City Under-19 (2007/08), Tamil Nadu Under-17 (2007/08), Tamil Nadu Cricket Association President’s XI (2011/12-2013/14), Tamil Nadu Under-22s (2011/12), Tamil Nadu Cricket Association XI (2012/13-2015) and Tamil Nadu Under-25s (2012/13-2014/15).

4) M Ashwin made debut in the first-class cricket for Tamil Nadu in 2012 at Ranji trophy. Later, he made debut in the List-A career (domestic 50-over cricket) in late 2015 at Vijay Hazare Trophy and made debut in the T20 career in January 2016 at Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

5) He only played 3 first-class crickets for Tamil Nadu since his debut in 2012 and picked up the only wicket. He also played 2 List-A matches and 6 domestic T20 matches for Tamil Nadu where he picked up 3 and 10 wickets respectively. Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin praised him.

In the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he performed quite well. The 25-years old, M Ashwin was in 10 lakhs base price slot in the 2016 IPL auction. After watching his performance in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, RPS decided to take at a high price 4.5 crore rupees. RPS and Delhi Daredevils were fighting to take him in their squad but RPS won at the end in that fight.
