Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) uploaded Wriddhiman Saha’s video of practicing in nets although the status of his injury has not yet been updated. The wicketkeeper-batsman picked up two hamstring injuries during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 but travelled with the Indian team to feature in the much-awaited Test series against Australia.
Wriddhiman Saha had a short stint for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) but created the most impact to lead them to playoffs. He scored two match-winning half-centuries in his last two league matches but also picked up injuries which led to his ouster from eliminator and second qualifier.

In the video posted by BCCI, Saha was seen facing throwdowns at the nets from the Sri Lankan left-arm specialist Nuwan Seneviratne and Indian right-arm bowler Dayananda Guarani for a considerable period of time.

Earlier, Sourav Ganguly had assured Wriddhiman Saha, has so far played 37 Tests and scored 1238 runs, will recover ahead of the beginning of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
“I think people don’t know how the BCCI works. The BCCI trainers, physio and Wriddhiman Saha himself know that he has two hamstring issues. People don’t understand injuries, that is why they talk rubbish.
“Wriddhi is traveling to Australia because he will be fit for Tests. He is not part of the shorter formats. For the entire duration of the IPL, Indian physios and trainers were in Dubai. [India physio] Dr. Nitin Patel is managing injuries and monitoring it all.”
The four-match Test series will inaugurate with a day-night Test match, which will be the first-ever pink ball test between India and Australia. Adelaide Oval will host the remarkable Test. The last three Test matches will be played in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Apart from the red-ball series, the two teams will also play three-match ODI series and as many T20Is which will be arranged before Tests.
