Hong Kong is one of the newest team in the cricket world who has earned T20I status in late 2013. Yet before that T20I status, they had earned ODI status.

Before 2014 World T20 and 2016 Asia Cup T20, Hong Kong featured in 2004 and 2008 Asia Cup (ODI format). Since they began playing in international cricket, their performances are quite okay, especially in T20I. Hong Kong took the limelight in international cricket after beating Bangladesh in their home ground in 2014 WT20 round one clash.

In recent performances, Hong Kong went winless in T20 Asia Cup qualifiers. So they have to do a lot of hard work in the upcoming WT20.

In the WT20 2016, Hong Kong is in Group B in the qualifiers along with Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Scotland. All the matches of Hong Kong in round 1 will be played in Nagpur. Only the winner of the group will advance to the next round which is known as Super 10. The winner of the group will face Sri Lanka, South Africa, West Indies and England.

The entire cricketing world will again watch them in the upcoming WT20. Hope they can do better this time.
