On Wednesday (16th October), the 17-year-old Mumbai cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a double-ton in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019/20. With this remarkable knock, the left-handed batsman became the youngest cricketer to hit a List A double century.
The defending champions Mumbai are playing this List A match against Jharkhand at Bengaluru. After winning the toss, Mumbai decided to bat first and the openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Aditya Tare provided a solid partnership. They had the 200 runs partnership for that wicket where Jaiswal completed a century and Tare scored 78 runs.

Though Tare lost his wicket, Jaiswal continued his impressive batting. He further put 105 runs partnership for the second wicket with Siddesh Lad (32 runs) and 51 runs partnership for the third wicket with the captain Shreyas Iyer. In the late of that innings, Jaiswal completed his maiden List A double century in just 149 balls.
After scoring 203 runs off 154 balls (17 fours and 12 sixes), opener Jaiswal lost his wicket in the final over of that innings. It was the ninth time when an Indian batsman (seventh batsman) hit a List A double-century. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the youngest cricketer in the world to hit a List A double century who is playing this match at the age of 17 years and 292 days. The previous record-holder was Alan Barrow (Natal against South Africa African XI at Durban on 25th October 1975) who scored a List A double century at the age of 20 years and 275 days.
Just a few days ago, in the same tournament, Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson hit the fastest List A double century as an Indian batsman.

The 17-year-old has stunned in his early career
The Mumbai lad Yashasvi Jaiswal just recently made his List A debut. On 28th September, when he made his List A debut during the match against Chhattisgarh, he scored 44 runs after coming to bat at no.3 position.
In the next game against Goa, Jaiswal was promoted to the opening slot and scored his maiden List A century. He scored 113 runs off 123 balls in that match. While he scored 22 runs against Karnataka, he slammed another List A century (122 runs off 132 balls) against Kerala.
After playing just five List A innings (including latest double-century), Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 504 runs with an average of 100.80.
