Yuvraj Singh Releases His Statement After Facing Criticism On Social Media For Supporting Shahid Afridi’s foundation

Indian superstar cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh have recently been trolled for supporting to former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi’s foundation. Now, Yuvraj has come out with the message where he clarified his intention.
The novel COVID-19 or coronavirus is dominating the world. More than 800,000 coronavirus cases have been reported while more than 40,000 have already lost their lives due to this virus. Many countries are struggling to fight against this new virus. Many countries are going through the complete lockdown process to break the chain of this virus. However, the global situation hasn’t been controlled yet.
As coronavirus is affecting people’s lives, most of the events, including sports events, have been postponed. Many sports players are coming in front to help the people in this tough period.
Recently, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh have come out to support Shahid Afridi’s foundation, which is helping many people to fight during this tough period. After raising funds, Shahid Afridi’s foundation is providing ration and sanitation packs to the needy people along with an information leaflet on how to keep safe from the coronavirus.
Both Yuvraj and Harbhajan shared their thoughts on their official social media accounts. Afridi also thanked both of them to join in this fight.

However, many Indians haven’t supported it and criticised both the Indian players on social media. Even Yuvraj was trending on Twitter for those criticisms.

Later, on Wednesday (1st April), Yuvraj came out with a statement on his Twitter account where he clarified his intention, which was to stand for humanity during the crisis. He also added, “I’m an Indian and will always bleed blue.”
Yuvraj tweeted, “I really don’t understand how a message to help the most vulnerable gets blown out of proportion! All I tried to achieve via that message was to help people in our respective countries by providing healthcare, my intention was not to hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m an Indian and will always bleed blue and will always stand for humanity. Jai Hind.”
