Revealed: Every Premier league team’s biggest signing this summer

Premier league clubs are awash with money as the latest television deal kicked in this season, meaning the summer transfer window had to be busy enough once it officially opened.

Just click through the slides for every Premier League club’s most expensive signing this summer.

Arsenal – Granit Xhaka (£34m): Finally Arsene Wenger has added steel to his midfield with the combative Xhaka coming from Borussia Monchengladbach. Xhaka is a player of the same mold as an Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere. Someone who likes the ball to feet likes to control possession.

Burnley – Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£2.5m): The former Charlton winger is literally a big name signing, but the Clarets’ fans are nervous they haven’t spent enough this summer. Last season Gudmundsson finished as the Championship’s joint top assist maker with 11 assists, despite Charlton being relegated to League 1, and he then started every game as Iceland reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.

Bournemouth – Jordon Ibe (£15m): The exciting winger will be hoping Eddie Howe can unlock his undoubted potential. Looking to the season ahead with Eddie Howe, Ibe rightfully notes that playing time is essential at this stage of his career and that minutes would have been tougher to come by with Liverpool than with Bournemouth

Chelsea – Michy Batshuayi (£33m): The Marseille striker narrowly pips N’Golo Kante to the most expensive slot during Chelsea’s transfer window. Chelsea’s signing of Michy Batshuayi was a bit of a surprise. The young, dreaded Belgian is relatively new to the scene of top league football, having become a starter at Marseille just last season.

Crystal Palace – Andros Townsend (£13m): The Eagles’ activated Townsend’s £13m Newcastle buyout clause to sign him. The Former Tottenham star scored four goals for Toon in their losing fight against the drop but was left out of the final Euro 2016 squad. Now Townsend will have another Premier League stage to show Sam Allardyce he is worth an international recall.

Everton – Ashley Williams (£9m): The Toffees have already replaced John Stone with a rock-solid centre-back. Williams spent eight years with the Swans, playing more than 300 games after joining for £300,000 from Stockport in March 2008.

Hull City – Will Mannion (tribunal): The Tigers lack a manager and new signings other than 18-year-old youth keeper Mannion.

Leicester City – Ahmed Musa (£16m): The forward has already bagged two electrifying goals against Barcelona for his new side. Having played all 90 minutes at the KC Stadium, Musa was one of the stand-out performers in the season-opener but his effort was unable to save Leicester from going down to an opening day defeat as Hull City claimed a 2-1 victory.

Liverpool – Sadio Mane (£30m): Southampton’s key man didn’t come cheaply to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds’ revolution. Mane’s £30m arrival from Southampton is crucial for Liverpool’s attack which, for all the flair of Coutinho, Firmino, and Lallana, last season was deficient of pace. The Senegalese was tireless in his desire to stretch Arsenal’s defence in the League opener and created space for his team-mates.

Manchester City – John Stones (£47.5m): The ball-playing defender could be a tremendous asset in Pep Guardiola’s new-look defence but he believes the price tag has not fazed him one little bit, even though it makes him the second most expensive defender in football history, after David Luiz.

Manchester United – Paul Pogba (£89m): Pogba’s world record transfer back to Manchester has grabbed the world’s attention. Pogba’s move to United from Juventus was a remarkable story – and not just because of the world record £89m fee. The deal saw a marketing operation kick into gear unlike anything was previously seen in sport.

Middlesbrough – Marten de Roon (£12m): The Dutch midfielder is a highly-rated talent from Serie A side Atlanta but faces up to a month on the sidelines due to the hamstring injury sustained in his EPL debut, and is set to miss the forthcoming league matches with Sunderland, West Brom, and Crystal Palace.

Southampton – Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (£12m): The slick midfielder could be an inspired signing from Bayern Munich. He made his Premier League debut with Southampton when he appeared as a second-half substitute in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Watford at St Mary’s. The midfielder helped his team to recover from a losing position to take a point from that game, and he is already looking ahead to his next taste of the action.

Stoke City – Joe Allen (£13m): Allen’s recent form has been eye-catching, to say the least; he could be a superb addition to Mark Hughes’ squad. The midfielder, who starred for Wales at Euro 2016, left Anfield soon after the tournament in France to join Stoke.

Sunderland – Papy Djilobodji (£8m): Though he didn’t make an impact at Chelsea, the centre back was a star on loan at Werder Bremen.

Swansea – Borja Baston (£15.5m): The Spanish star has replaced Andre Ayew up front for the Swans.

Tottenham – Vincent Janssen (£17m): The big money striker will take some of the pressure off Harry Kane. If Kane cut a jaded figure for England at Euro 2016, the good news for him and Tottenham Hotspur is they have a player ready to share the load of leading the Spurs attack this season.

Watford – Isaac Success (£12m): The Hornets are hoping their new striker brings exactly what his surname suggests.

West Bromwich Albion – Matt Phillips (£5.5m): Tony Pulis made a shrewd move for QPR winger Phillips early in the window.

West Ham United – Andre Ayew (£20.5m): The Hammers smashed their transfer record to pick up a possible answer to their striker problems. But The 26-year-old had a nightmarish debut when he limped off before half-time in the Premier League opener at Chelsea with an injury.
