1. The Caribous of Colorado, year 1978
The little known team might not have been on football records 35 years after its dissolution, but for the legendary mishap that was their kit, the players of the Caribous of Colorado are the history’s worst ever football kit wearers. Who designed their kits is still a mystery to many, but whosoever did it must have surely thought it was not for a football club. 2. Huddersfield Town, year 1993
Why they designed such a kit is beyond me, but Huddersfield Town clearly leads the way when it comes to the worst kits in England. How many colors were in the kit is somebody else’s to guess, only thing that makes me feel for after seeing this is how much did the club shop make in the way of income that year. Must’ve been a sad story.
3. Estonia, year 1996
Seems like a throwback to the days of the pharaohs and mummies and pyramids and the ancients, Estonia’s national team must have made every other team they played against that year laugh and laugh out loud. A disaster would be an understatement; how on earth could such a design get an approval?
4. Barcelona, year 1995
Seems like the 90s were some kind of an age of fashion fiascoes as we also saw the mighty Barcelona shirt-ing their way into footballing infamy with this pesky and calamitous home kit. Barcelona might be one of the foremost clubs in style and stature these days, but they had a completely different image back then.
5. England, year 1996
This is particularly appalling given how England prides itself being simplistically sophisticated and stylish. Euro’96 was a home event, and off went the Old Blighty designers to pull off a debacle of catastrophic proportions. David Seaman’s goalkeeper’s jersey was one of the worst ever seen, and I wish the designers weren’t at least exonerated back then.
