WC Qualifiers round-up: Spain, Wales clinch thrasing victory; Italy secures a comfortable win

On the day 2 of the round 1 in 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification from UEFA zone, Spain destroyed the visitors Liechtenstein by 8-0 while 10-man Italy securing an easy win against the hosts Israel by 3-1. Also, Wales clinched an impressive victory against the hosts Moldova by 4-0 with the help of Gareth Bale’s double.

In the Group G encounter, totally dominated Spain outclassed Liechtenstein by 8-0 with help of Diego Costa, David Silva and Alvaro Morata’s brace scores. 182-ranked Liechtenstein had no clue against the 8-ranked Spain. Costa opened the account in 10 minutes while Spain did not score any more goals in the first half. But in the second half, Spain added 7 more goals in their account with the time went on.

Sergio Roberto scored the second goal for Spain in 55 minutes while Silva scored at 4 minutes later. In the very next minute Vitolo made 4-0 for the hosts Spain. Costa scored his second goal in the match at 66 minutes while Morata scored two back-to-back goals at 82 and 83 minutes of the match. Spain’s final goal was come from Silva’s left foot during the injury time of the match.

In the another Group G match, 4-time world cup winner Italy clinched an easy victory over the hosts Israel by 3-1 despite Italy down to 10-man from 55 minutes of the match. Graziano Pelle put ahead Italy in 14 minutes with the help from an excellent cross of Luca Antonelli. In 31 minutes, Antonio Candreva extended the scoreline 2-0 for Italy through a penalty.

With a wonderful goal from Tal Ben Haim, Israel reduced the scoreline to 2-1 in the 35 minutes of the match.

In the 55 minutes, Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini was sent off with the second yellow card of the match. Earlier, Chiellini was shown the first yellow card in 28 minutes.

However that red card had not cost for Italy. In the 83 minutes, Ciro Immobile scored the third goal for Italy and secured the match for them. It was the first international victory for Italy under the new coach Giampiero Ventura.

The Albenia vs Macedonia match in the Group G was abandoned due to adverse weather condition. A torrential rain forced to abandon the match after 76 minutes while the scoreline was 1-1 at that moment.

In the Group D encounters, Wales beat Moldova by 4-0 while Austria won by 2-1 against Georgia. Also Serbia made 2-2 draw against Republic of Ireland.

With the help of Gareth Bale’s doubles, Wales beat Moldova by 4-0. Sam Vokes scored the first goal for Wales in 38 minutes and followed by Joe Allen with the 44 minutes goal. Bale scored his first goal in this match at 50 minutes. In the injury time of the match, Bale added another goal from the penalty.

In the Georgia vs Austria match, with the goals from Martin Hinteregger and Marc Janko in 16 and 42 minutes respectively, Austria went ahead by 2-0 over the hosts Georgia. In the 78 minutes, Zhano Ananidze scored for Georgia but that was not enough to save the match.

Serbia made 2-2 draw against the visitors Republic of Ireland. In the 3 minutes, Jeff Hendrik (Republic of Ireland) put ahead the visitors. Serbia’s Filip Kostic equalised the scoreline in 62 minutes while Dusan Tadic put ahead the hosts through a penalty in 7 minutes later. Substitute Daryl Murphy (Republic of Ireland) made level the scoreline by 2-2 in 80 minutes after scoring for the visitors.

All the 3 matches of Group I were ended 1-1 draw. The 3 matches were: Croatia vs Turkey, Finland vs Kosovo and Ukraine vs Iceland.
