The BCCI has formed a three-member committee to probe an alleged threat by a ‘respected’ journalist to Wriddhiman Saha who didn’t agree to give an interview to him/her.
Wriddhiman Saha was dropped for the 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has today constituted a three-member committee to look into the matter of Wriddhiman Saha receiving threats and intimidation from a senior journalist,” BCCI released a statement.
“The three-member committee comprises BCCI Vice-President Mr. Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Treasurer Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal, and BCCI Apex Council Member Mr. Prabhtej Singh Bhatia. The committee will start the proceedings as early as next week,” the release added.
BCCI further stated that a “centrally contracted cricketer was allegedly threatened by a senior journalist for not responding to his messages asking for an interview.”

Notable that on February 19 Wriddhiman Saha revealed a conversation with a journalist in which he/she sent a message with a threatened tone, “You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”
However, despite all the pressure on social media, Saha didn’t reveal the name of the journalist as he said that it might ruin his/her career. However, it is understood now that he is ready to reveal the identity of the journalist and has given his consent to probe.
Saha played 40 Test matches and 9 ODIs for India. He played his last test match against New Zealand in Mumbai in December last year. In a recent interview, he revealed that the team management told him that he won’t be picked for India again as the selectors are looking to groom a young wicketkeeper.
For the 2-test match series against Sri Lanka, the selectors dropped Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma, and Wriddiman Saha. Saha also opted out of the Ranji Trophy to spend some time with family.
