At first, The Bella Twins were scared to do something wrong while getting the call from The Boss himself but then it turned out to be pretty good news.

During their appearance at Backstage, The Bella Twins revealed that Vince McMahon himself was the man to call them to inform the news of being inducted into the Hall of Fame 2020 class.

It’s a true honor for them after they served the company for over a decade and left a big mark on the Divas Division. Initially, they were unable to pick up the phone and thought they’ve made some blunders forcing McMahon to call them. But it turned out to be perhaps the best news they could expect.

“It’s funny when Nikki and I got the called, Vince [McMahon] called us both,” Brie Bella Said. “We saw his missed call and my first reaction was, ‘Nikki, what did you say in the press?’ We thought we were in trouble, we called Vince back, together, and when he told us, we were shocked, ‘What? This year?'”

“When you’ve worked hard for so long and have fought for so many things and have the one man who you not only look up to so much, but also gave you incredible opportunity,” Nikki Bella added. “To have him call and—Vince said the sweetest things.”

The Bella Twins had quite a wonderful career in the WWE as both of them were able to pick up the Divas Championship on different occasions. Nikki will always be known as the longest-reigning Divas Champion as she held on to belt for 301 days setting an all-time record.

Nikki Bella also recalled her final match on WWE Backstage that happened against Ronda Rousey at Evolution in October 2018,

“Having this champion, this UFC fighter, I knew I couldn’t go in there and be like ‘Fearless Nikki’ always was,” Nikki recalled. “I had to wrestle different, I had to be more aggressive. Before that match, Ronda and I trained for maybe 20 minutes, that was all we ever touched.

And I felt her strength and power, and I was like, ‘Oh, this is something way different, I never felt this from a man before.’ So, I went in there thinking, ‘You are Goliath about to fight David—even though David conquered—but you are going to be the monster in that.’ That’s how I had to think.” (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
