There’s no update on when Io Shirai vs. Charlotte Flair for the championship will go down on NXT TV. Flair has just won the title from Rhea Ripley this past Sunday during Night Two of WrestleMania 36.

She is yet to make her presence felt on NXT as the new champion. WWE has not officially addressed her status as the champion yet as she is listed as a WWE Raw superstar, till now. Perhaps, they intend to use her on both the brands, moving forward.

The primary reason behind crowning Charlotte Flair as the new champion is targeted to use her on NXT TV as WWE eyes to win the Wednesday Night rating and viewership battle against AEW.

The Queen could certainly help WWE achieving the same with a continuous presence on the black and yellow brand. It is to be noted that Charlotte Flair has been appearing on NXT TV throughout the feud against Rhea Ripley.

Now she will be making an appearance as the brand new champion on NXT and build up a new feud against Io Shirai. Rhea Ripley is said to be hurt during her WrestleMania match against Charlotte Flair who will be missing some of the future NXT episodes.

The genetically superior athlete will now get the opportunity to face some of NXT Women’s Division members, as pledged by her in an interview with TV Insider,

“Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, and I’m sure Bianca Belair wants a rematch,” Flair said. “I haven’t really thought about that yet. It’s crazy, a whole new group of girls. Everyone knows that I’m probably the most competitive person in the locker room, so I’m going to want to have the best division.”
