Ric Flair signed a new WWE Contract, this week to extend his stay with the company. Although it’s not a lifetime contract, at his seventy-plus age, it could be considered similar.
Reports suggest that WWE would have signed him much sooner, but the process was held up a bit due to the coronavirus pandemic related situation. But the good news is that a deal was signed to keep the legendary superstar signed with WWE.

Moreover, Ric Flair has himself revealed how his relationship with WWE stands. The bond is so much stronger that he and her daughter don’t even think of ever leaving the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world. Even WWE’s rival brand All Elite Wrestling knows this, pretty well and they respectfully, won’t ever offer them a contract, ever. Now that’s how Vince McMahon and Co works with the Flair clan.
While speaking to Wrestling Inc, The Nature Boy revealed what Tony Khan told him about AEW offering him a deal when his WWE contract expired. Ric Flair mentioned that he wasn’t going to get an AEW offer.

The owner of the company, Tony Khan was not going to give him an offer, at all. Apparently, AEW President told Ric Flair that he is very much aware of how much close Ric Flair is with the WWE. This caused Khan not to even pitch an offer.
“Well it’s not for life but I hope they keep renewing me [laughs]. You never know but I’m obviously not gonna go anywhere else if they didn’t renew me. Tony [Khan] told me that he wouldn’t even ask me to come to work there because he knows how tight I am with [WWE]. Our friendship is one thing but he respects my loyalty to the company.”

It should be noted that Ric Flair included his daughter Charlotte Flair in this conversation as he’s pretty confident about WWE’s strong future plans with her. As noted above, Ric didn’t sign a lifetime deal with WWE, but he hopes to sign as many extensions as he could to stay under the WWE contract. As per recent reports, AEW might be an option for Ric Flair’s old WCW colleague and rival Sting, but they’re not coming after The Nature Boy and his true successor in the pro-wrestling business.
Ric Flair is a sixteen-time world champion which is more than anybody else in the history of pro-wrestling. WWE has a target of shattering that record via her daughter, at some point. Charlotte Flair has already reached in her 12th reign, combining all the Raw, SmackDown and NXT title reigns. It seems only a matter of time when Charlotte topples the landmark created by her legendary father.
