WWE News: Daniel Cormier Unhappy For Not Getting Match Against Brock Lesnar
UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier is still not over with the dream of competing against Brock Lesnar. For the past couple of summers, the match almost became reality as the latter name had the chance to go back to perform at UFC. However, that never happened as WWE managed to keep him under their banner in a long-term contract.
But Daniel Cormier wanted this match to happen, badly since Brock Lesnar once appeared inside the Octagon to threaten him that was potentially a confirmation of an MMA contest. But that never came to fruition as Vince McMahon and Co. may never have reached to a deal with UFC President, Dana White. But the prime champion of his company still has his eyes set on The Conqueror of the WWE.
In an interview with “The Schmo” during the UFC 241 Media Day, Daniel Cormier noted on his match against Brock Lesnar. A fight between the two stars has a small chance of happening despite which “DC” commented on this and mentioned how Lesnar backed down from it and decided to stay within the WWE.
“He didn’t want the smoke. Brock decided to stay in the WWE and I think it’s smart, right?” Daniel Cormier continued, “You either go and perform or you come and fight me. It just makes more sense to stay in the WWE.”
How are we heading into round 4?!?!

Even prior to this the UFC Champion noted that it’s smart from Lesnar’s perspective to stay in the WWE. With his growing age, some big fights in the scripted world of wrestling could earn him big paychecks which is not possible in the MMA world.
Back in May, Dana White revealed that Brock Lesnar has decided to retire from the sport of MMA. This rejected plans as the UFC has been trying to arrange a fight between Lesnar and Cormier for an event in August. Around the same time, WWE also announced that the Beast Incarnate has renewed a contract with the company that is likely to be intact for multiple years to follow.
As of now, Daniel Cormier has just lost his title against former champ Stipe Miocic in the headliner match of the UFC 241 pay-per-view event which took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Brock Lesnar, on the other hand, competed at the 32nd annual Summerslam to drop the Universal Championship to Seth Rollins and go on a hiatus. He is likely to return on Smackdown 20th anniversary celebration on October 4th.
